SACA announce that this years Birmingham to London Cycle ride took place over the weekend of 25th and 26th July 2009. The event was a success due to the dedication of the riders and accompanying support teams. The latter consisted of a dedicated ambulance crew, ride marshals (cycle and motorbike), mobile refreshment vans, cycle mechanics, a command vehicle and transport vehicles to support riders on route.

The ride concluded in Southall, West London with a huge parade followed by an open-air picnic and entertainment stage in Southall park.

This years ride was the 20th in succession. Over the years SACA has raised over £200,000 for childrens charities. 2009's selected charity is Richard House. The Hospice provides care and support for life-limited children and children with complex healthcare conditions and their families. Please visit: http://www.richardhouse.org.uk/ for more information. We urge all riders to collect their sponsorship monies asap through manual donations or from individual online sponsorship pages at http://www.justgiving.com, where money is routed direct to SACA.

The SACA organising commitee would like to thank all the support staff, Ealing Council, Smethwick Gurdwara, Luton Gurdwara, all volunteers, sponsors, Police, M&L Ambulance support and the riders who all gave their energy as self-less service to help raise vital funds for Richard House Hospice.

SACA will now be working on organising the 2010 ride.
We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2010.
